News: Rudolph Valentino's Estate For Sale - Once In A Lifetime...

Rudy Valentino - Silver Screen LegendYes, it's true... Rudolph Valentino's Estate, Falcon Lair, is indeed for sale by its current owner. The estate, located in Beverly Hills, was purchased by Valentino after leaving his first Hollywood residence, Villa Valentino, which was located in Whitley Heights.

This famous historic mansion would be an historic and no doubt thrilling Hollywood retreat, for those who can afford the asking price of...

...$5,950,000 - which the present owner is seeking.

In 1923, Valentino purchased the secluded Mediterranean-style estate for the (then) richly sum of $175,000. Here, surrounded by neighbors that included Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, Douglas Fairbanks, and Mary Pickford, Valentino spent a small fortune remodeling the estate in an attempt to create a grander and more fantastic environment than the sets of his movies.

After Valentino’s death, the mansion's contents were sold at auction and the estate was purchased by heiress Doris Duke, who continued to own the property for the next 45 years. She completed an extensive renovation, installing many of the treasures that she had collected during her world travels -- including Renaissance-era door surrounds and chandeliers, marble mantels, and a beautiful recreation of a circa-1805 room (rumored to be Napoleon’s “war room.”) Valentino's estate was then sold in the 1990's by the Duke estate to a new owner. Now available with more than $2,000,000 in preparatory work, this noted historical property presents a rare opportunity to restore and re-create one of Hollywood’s most famous and significant properties.

Plans for this exceptional Mediterranean-style estate comprise 13,000 square feet in the main residence and three outbuildings—including a 1,400-square-foot master suite, four guest bedrooms, a gym, and a media room. There are extensive gardens, staff quarters, and an infinity pool as well. This villa offers a picturesque and sophisticated lifestyle, boasting spectacular mountain, canyon, and city views.

Set on more than five acres, it provides privacy behind high walls and a convenient location only five minutes from the Beverly Hills Hotel.
